Terms
How our free website offer works, what you pay once your website is live, and how to leave. Last updated 30 October 2026.
1. Who we are
The Free Website Shop is run by Prooflive.ai, trading as Prooflive ("we", "us"), of 7 Ferry Road, Preston PR2 2YH, United Kingdom. You can reach us by replying to any email from us, or in the live chat on this website.
2. The offer
We design and build your website for free. There is nothing to pay and no obligation while we build it. Your web designer will contact you within 24 hours of signing up (usually within a few hours Monday to Friday), and you see your website before you decide whether to put it live.
3. Putting your website live
- When you choose to put your website live, you pay £19 a month for hosting on our Budget plan, by card through Stripe, monthly in advance. The first month is taken when it goes live. There is no free trial.
- That includes hosting, a security certificate, backups and one business email address. Extra email addresses are £4.99 a month each.
- We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. If that changes we'll tell you before it affects what you pay.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to you.
- If a payment fails we'll retry it and email you. If it still isn't paid, we may take the website offline until it is.
4. No contract, cancel any time
You can cancel any time from your account. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for, and the website goes offline then. We don't refund part-used months, except where the law requires it.
5. Your domain
A domain we register for you (from £19 a year) is registered in your name and renewed yearly on your card, unless you cancel it. It's yours: if you leave, we'll give you what you need to move it. You can also use a domain you already own.
6. Your content and your website
Your text, photos, logo and details stay yours. You're responsible for making sure what's on your website is accurate and lawful and that you have permission for anything that belongs to someone else, such as photos, reviews or quotes. When your website goes live you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use, change and keep using its design for your own business.
7. Changes to your website
Tell your web designer what you'd like changed, or edit your website yourself in your account. Changes are included for reasonable use; for very large changes we'll agree the details with you first.
8. Hosting, email and acceptable use
Your website and email are hosted on Prooflive.ai. Its Terms of Service also apply, including acceptable use, email sending and data protection. Where these terms differ, these terms apply to your Free Website Shop plan.
9. Our responsibility
We'll provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
