Website advice

Do I need a website if I'm already on Facebook?

Yes, most small businesses do. A Facebook page is good for chatting with customers and sharing what's new, but a website is where people go to check you're real, see what you charge and find your number. Many people never log in to Facebook at all, and Google shows websites first when someone searches for what you do.

What a website does that Facebook can't

  • It shows up on Google. When someone searches "plumber near me" or "cake shop in Leeds", Google lists websites. A Facebook page rarely comes near the top.
  • Anyone can see it. No account, no login box, no pop-ups asking them to sign up.
  • You own it. Facebook can change what your followers see, or close a page, at any time. Your website and your domain stay yours.
  • It looks established. A business with its own web address and email looks like it's here to stay.

Keep both, and link them

You don't have to choose. Put your website address in your Facebook bio, and add a button to your Facebook page on your website. Post your news on Facebook, and keep your prices, services, opening hours and contact details on your website, where they're easy to find and easy to keep up to date.

What it costs

With us, nothing to build. Our team designs your website, you see it finished, and if you love it you pay £19 a month to keep it online. No contract. See the full price.
